• Institutional strengthening of Waste Management unit (Ablekuma Sub-Metropolitan Assembly) through hands-on practical demonstration of project execution and management
• Facilitation/stakeholder buy-in workshops and Focus-Group Discussions for community selection of priority interventions
• Design of appropriate low-cost public and neigbourhood, school toilet blocks and solid waste skip holding bay, and priority sullage and drainage works
• Update of designs & block drawings, costs and procurement of works/services
• Construction supervision & preparation of Facilities Operation and Maintenance Handbook (FOM-H)

Main deliverables/outputs include the following:
• Identification of solid waste collection processes/systems and sites shown in (a)map(s) (including transfer stations and final disposal sites) and the players/actors/stakeholders within the city of Accra
• Identification and prioritization of value chains within all the solid waste streams (components of solid)
• Identification of job offers or opportunities for youth within the value chain of solid waste management
• Conducting youth/focus group meetings to investigate youth’s interests in specific skill training within the value chain of solid waste management for income generations
• Assessment of youth’s access to finance opportunities and constraints youth face
• Identification of financial service providers that youth can be linked to, to help them engage in employment or self-employment
• Identification of Business Service Providers and types of complementary services to be offered the youth after the vocational training , and the provider’s capacity to provide business for those services to the target group
• A final report on all the above listed items and most importantly, the identified marketable vocations youth should be trained in within the value chain of solid waste management to create sustainable employment

Main deliverables/outputs include the following:
• Review of water and sanitation financing and investment studies and data to define priority items
• Preparation of priority commitments by Government of Ghana (GoG) in SWA Compact (with country-level development partners)
• Support to Technical Working Group in preparation of presentations/statements for Workshops, SWA Ministerial/High-level meetings in DC and launching of Ghana SWA Compact.

Main deliverables/outputs include the following:

• Support to procurement of vehicles and spare parts
• Vetting of procurement documents for franchise scheme for municipal solid waste management
• Vetting of operation and maintenance management procedures for landfill
• Institutional and staff capacity enhancement of operations of Waste Management Department
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual Project Progress Reports
• Preparation of Implementation Completion Report including financial report for Package 3 – Support to Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly

Main deliverables/outputs include the following:
• 10 Regional Validation Workshops – validation of field data
• Assessment of completed District Strategies by 194 Metropolitan (sub-metro districts), Municipal and District Assemblies
• Preparation of preliminary designs for proposed interventions for all components of environmental sanitation
• Design of model for costing of policy measures in NESSAP
• Definition of Incremental Service Improvement Options (ISIOSs) and Costing of facilities and services for different Levels of Service
• Costing of environmental sanitation components of NESSAP
• Preparation of the National Environmental Sanitation Strategy and Action Plan (NESSAP)
